A Master Key to Breaking Bad Habits

January 12th, 2007

No matter what habit you are trying to break, the key to breaking is… replacing.

You need to over ride the negative habit with a positive habit. If you simply try to break the habit without replacing it you will certainly fail.

If you are trying to stop over eating, you must find a habit that can replace this.

This is the master key to breaking any habit.

The next key is commitment. You must be committed to make the change. Change being the operative word. You must change one habit for another.

Some habits such as smoking or over eating, are often somforting habits based on some feelings that you may need to change. This is where you need to be keenly aware of what you are feeling when you participate in these habits.

The feelings are things that need to be changed which will in turn, change the action.

One last point, no matter how bad you habits may be, you can change them. It’s not too late. But it takes a sincere commitment to make it happen.

You can make it happen!

How to Master Success and your Life

January 11th, 2007

Our life is governed by one thing… that’s our habits.

Our success and failures comes from one thing and that is what we habitually do. Some of these things are done on a conscious level and some are on a subconscious level.

To achieve success in any area of our lives we need to be in control of our habits. We need to be able to break free of the habits that hold us back and take advantage of the habits that serve us well.

In order to make this work, we need to be conscious of the habits that are holding us back. And that takes careful observance of what we do on a daily business. The more we pay attention, the more obvious our bad habits will become apparent to us.

Some are pretty obvious: smoking, drinking too much, eating too much, consistently being late, etc.

But some are more subtle, these are the subconscious habits that may have been there for a long time. Some of these may include, being fearful during confrontation, a nervous tick, etc. By observing ourselves and our actions we can uncover these habits and get rid of them.

There are some techniques that can help us break these habits and help us break through to the success we need. I will delve into these in the next posting.

Here’s to Your Success,

John Clark
